History buffs will no doubt start to howl about how Hollywood has butchered another ancient legend. But other than that Kind Arthur was nothing like Troy. In fact is was actually quite an enjoyable film. Instead of dwelling on overdramatized and unnecessary scenes for three quarters of the movie like Troy did, King Arthur got to the damn point and got there fast. I like that. The main characters did not pontificate for fifteen minutes every five minutes about what they are fighting for. Why do that when you can say it in one fifth as many lines? There were some funny/witty lines, and it worked exactly as planned mainly because the cast was masterful instead of standing around reciting their lines like those clowns on Troy. I also liked the cinematography here. So the two sides of a battle are running into each other and it's all chaotic. Yeah, it's one thing to just watch the camera jerking around wildly, but it's a whole 'nother story when the filmmakers aer able to transmit that chaos, yet still make it so that you can actually see who the hell is slicing at whom. Of course knowing the crooked way Academy Awards are handed out, Troy will probably get five and King Arthur will get none.
